Intensive Wheel-Throwing Course
This 8-hour intensive course, spread over two consecutive days (4 hours each), is the perfect way to dive into the world of wheel-throwing. Designed for complete beginners as well as those who want to build on their skills, the course introduces you step by step to the fundamentals of working on the potter’s wheel.
On the first day, you’ll learn how to prepare and center clay on the wheel, open it up, and pull the clay into a cylinder before shaping it into your very first vessel. On the second day, you’ll trim the bottoms of your pieces, refine the forms, and finish the shapes so they’re ready for drying and firing.
Your finished vessels will remain in the studio to dry completely, be glazed, and fired. Once they’re ready, you can collect them and enjoy using your handmade ceramics at home – they’ll be dishwasher- and microwave-safe, making them perfect for everyday use.
This course is ideal if you’ve always wanted to try the wheel in depth, or if you’d like a more structured introduction than a short workshop can offer.
