Studio Policies and Guidelines

Welcome to the studio! Please take a moment to review these guidelines to ensure a smooth experience for everyone and prioritize safety and enjoyment.

Payment:

  • Kindly submit fees for monthly classes before the 5th of each month, covering four sessions.

Class Attendance and Recovery:

  • If unable to attend, notify me at least 12 hours in advance to reschedule.
  • Missed classes without prior notice count as attended.
  • One class per month can be recovered within the same or following month, except during months with five sessions.
  • It is not possible to accumulate recovery classes.
  • Note: Wheel-throwing may have limited availability; you can use the class to decorate and glaze your pieces.

Discontinuation of the monthly Course:

  • Notify me at least one week before the end of the month if you want to discontinue your monthly course.
  • Unfinished pieces can be glazed and fired at additional fees. Alternatively, book a single session to glaze them yourself. You are welcome to save the last class for a later moment in order to glaze your remaining pieces.
  • Pieces must be collected within one month after receiving a notification that they are ready to be picked up; otherwise they will be discarded.

Refund Policy:

  • No refunds will be given for the monthly classes in case you decide to stop the classes before the end of the month.
  • No refund will be given for unused classes when you buy a voucher.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be refunded.
  • In the case of workshops or private events, a full refund will be given up to seven days before the workshop. For cancellations up to 72 hours before the workshop, a 50% refund will be provided. No refund will be given for cancellations within 72 hours of the workshop.

Clay:

  • Only high-fire stoneware clay from niho Ceramics is permitted for safety reasons during firing.

Glazes and Engobes:

  • We offer a range of glazes and engobes for decoration.
  • Engobes are ideal for patterns and designs, not full coverage of pieces.
  • You are welcome to bring your own glazes, as long as they meet the firing requirements (1240 °C).

Piece Size:

  • Firing costs are included, but pieces exceeding 20cm in any dimension will incur additional charges.
  • Please inquire about firing costs for larger pieces before starting.

Damage or Loss:

  • While we handle pieces with maximum care, accidents may occur during production.
  • Sign your pieces for easy identification.
  • niho Ceramics is not liable for loss or breakage.
