This course is designed for beginners that want to have a go on the pottery wheel. You will be introduced to the art of wheel throwing and will be making your first vessels. You will learn how to open the clay on the wheel and pull up the wall of clay.

You will not be able to take any pieces home as they won’t be finished. For that you would have to book the two day (2x 4h) intensive course.

The complete process of making a vessel requires two days. On the first day the vessels are thrown on the wheel, then they need to dry overnight. The next day the bottom of the vessel will be trimmed to shape. Once finished the piece needs to dry completely until it can be fired in the kiln.

Includes	This is an introduction to wheel throwing. You will be practicing the art of throwing on the pottery wheel using stoneware clay. You will learn how to make vessels of different sizes and shapes. You will not be able to take any of your pieces home because due to the nature of the production process they will not be finished. When you are looking for the complete process of making a vessel you will need to book the two day intensive course.
